My name is Mike Joly. I was born in 1970, which influences every aspect of my life.  I have spent my entire life in Alberta though have travelled extensively. I have spent the last 24 years teaching both English Language Arts and Religion at the High School level. Due to my experience in these courses, I have been nominated for the Alberta Excellence in Teaching award 4 times and have even made it to the semi-final stage.  I have also been involved in both the creation and marking of diploma exams, and was a contributor in the creation of the English curriculum. I have a beautiful, yet volatile, wife and 1 self- absorbed, yet courageous, adopted daughter. Aside from hanging with my famiIy, I spend most of my days trying to save as many of my 30-2 students as possible, even if they don’t want to be saved. They are worth my time, and I truly appreciate the circumstances that have made them the students that they are.
